What’s on my mind?

Who was the most intelligent person who ever lived?

It is impossible to get a straight answer to the question.

I sometimes find it funny that so many people will simply answer, Einstein was the most intelligent person. While Einstein was intelligent on an extreme scale with mathematics and physics. But he had troubles with basic life skills like how to cook & How to dress accordingly…

Sometimes your mind is not capable of working on levels that you are not used to thinking on.

Quoting Einstein here: “If you test a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will go through life thinking it is stupid.”

You can be smart on one subject but be terrible at another. It is nearly impossible to be good at multiple areas without having a bunch of bad ones.

I’m good at problem solving, computers and reading but I have been terrible with maths, physics & even Urdu writing due to not having a strong background in traditional educational institutions…

Intelligence isn’t and shouldn’t be measured in just one particular area or subject. Intelligence means you can adapt your mind to solve any problem or situation as the need arises. Studying books, crunching numbers & GPA doesn’t mean a person is highly intelligent maybe they’re just good at their task. 🤷‍♂️ A highly intelligent person has the capacity to learn and adapt to anything they might need.

Just Like this some of us can’t go towards a formal educational lifestyle. For me, I feel trapped inside a university/school or a college. It’s not easy for me to learn the way these Institutions teach, these institutions take away some keen learning years from a teenager’s life. But it’s a Must in our society and this we can’t change *For Now*. The whole point of this is to not see everyone with the same mindset, some prefer a formal educational system, and some focus on building a particular skill set and use it to their advantage.

Anyway, as to my answer to the question, I think the most intelligent person to live was Socrates he was considered an intelligent & wise man as he knew that he did not know anything. Pythia (The oracle of Delphi), a high priestess told Socrates’s friend that there was no one wiser than Socrates.

When Socrates heard about this he was confused about how he could be the wisest man when he knew nothing? There must be a mistake. The Pythia must have confused me for someone else. he then set out to find someone who was wiser than him, and surprisingly he found out that no one was truly wiser than him because no one else was willing to admit that they knew nothing. he believed that people went around thinking they knew more than they actually knew and pretended to know things that they could not truly be certain of.

“Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.” — Socrates

What made Socrates so wise was actually that he kept asking questions and he was always willing to debate his ideas he used to constantly push to understand the world & he used to ask so many questions about love, justice & bravery. or What is good or bad? What does it mean to be moral or immoral? What does it mean to LOVE someone? and by doing this he exposed people who claimed to completely understand the concept of such things

Socrates was accused of corrupting the youth of Athens and sentenced to death. He could have run away from his death but he chooses not to flee, he was never satisfied with what he knew, He told others to examine every part of their lives, and question everything everyday.

The Life Socrates described, is only worth living if you think about what you are doing like he said “An unexamined existence is all right for cattle, but not for human beings.”
